If I am going to set up my tank for ATW with the Neptune DOS do I also need to have an ATO?

Yes, because your AWC is going to remove and replace the same amount of water, so you'll still have evaporation :) You dont want to remove and replace with more water or your salinity will raise.

True, true and unrelated. :D

Yes, as Crabs explained very well. The ATO replaces evaporation with RO/DI while the AWC replaces old tank water with new salt water.

Or you can program your ato to go off at whatever time you have auto water change going on. That way whatever you use as your top marker can also be used as your ato marker.
