When viewing at a angle, thicker glass especially can make things look really funky!

Is 1/2 inch glass much better than 3/4s? How sharp of an angle drives you all crazy?

Yep. I get motion sick very easily and any distortion just makes me dizzy. I cannot stand looking into bow front tanks because of this.
I had a tank with 1" thick glass, it would get me depending on how close I was and different angles. My acrylic has not really bothered me yet, unless I get really close and look at weird angle. Hard to say what is the worst angle for me. Any angle.

Was the top of that tank below your eyeline so you needed to look way down at it?

Try having a curved front glass. It looks awesome from a far, terrible up close and a nightmare to get a picture through it.

Anyone know if this is an exponential effect with thicker glass? Like even though the difference from 1/2 to 3/4 is half more it causes like 3 times more distortion or is it linear? In other words is the difference between 1/2 and 3/4 significant when viewing from an angle?

Revisiting this, anyone bothered by 3/4s?

I know acrylic is a little better in this regard, are acrylic tanks usually the same thickness like a 180gal is 1/2 inch arcylic just as glass would be or is it typically thinner/thicker than what the same size tank in glass would be?
