Does running "Wave" mode on your return pump shorten it's lifespan (MightyJet)

Just curious. Tried out wave mode on the return pump on my 25 lagoon today and quite liked it. It's a Mighty Jet pump.

I am less worried about 5% loss of lifespan, wondering more about 25-50% or more.
 
just by the nature of it yes it will lessen the lifespan. I’d certainly guess more than 5% but exactly how much I’m not sure. Also though if a pump is going to last 4.5 years instead of 5 years, that may not seem like a huge deal
