Does this alveopora look healthy?

I got this alveopra 2 days ago it was alot shorter tentacle wise... is it stretching for light or am I being stupid for worrying?

It could be stretching for light - but it looks healthy. I'd try to deal with some of that hair algae sooner as opposed to later, though.

Looks great. Ime, they are very hardy. Make sure hes swaying in the breeze, flow wise.

Looks quite normal and they extend like that. When shrunken is a concern. As bright as light looks, I cant imagine they want more

Alright thank you I'm working on gha ATM do you believe that adding more coral creates more competition for nutrients with gha making it weaker or is that just some dumb theory that will not work out

Yup that coral sways alottt it's beautiful! One of my favorites so far!

Yup haha I've been dealing with it alright I'm gonna try copepods next month wish me luck!

Coral and coralline algae will limit the areas the gha can establigh itself.

Alright thank you I'm working on gha ATM do you believe that adding more coral creates more competition for nutrients with gha making it weaker or is that just some dumb theory that will not work out

If battling GHA, coral do not necessarily compete but clean up GHA before adding more coral as you likely with GHA have elevated nitrate and/or phosphate. Pull what GHA you can by hand and then reduce white light intensity and number of hours of white lighting and add some snails such as :
Astrea
cerith
turbo grazer
trochus

A Pencil urchin

8-10 Caribbean blue leg hermits

Are you using RODI water or tap water from the faucet ?
What is your phosphate level?
Is tank at or near a window?

I swear dude under the giant tufts of gha there is alot of purple coralline but u can never see it bc it is hard to remove the gha

You'd be surprised at the power of UV which can penetrate shades-blinds and curtains.

Yep= Like I said, they are very forgiving opposed to goniopora. Be sure to keep decent flow over it so it will nt have debris on it and can capture food ( planktonic foods good ) and amino acids added to water occasionally
