The used Reef turned 1 at the end of last month so here’s a shot of where we are at now. 10D65011-6EEE-4283-A3B4-57C0E707668D.jpeg B0456FDF-0317-4340-A073-8EA356DA61E3.jpeg

Converted the ATO to kalk dosing instead to combat low pH. Then I added some chaeto and a cheap Amazon grow light, running a reverse photoperiod of the display. Did this to combat algae in the display, limit pH dips when the display lights are off, and help with nutrient export. Before the chaeto I was 20-25ppm nitrate, and just after one week we’re showing 5ppm. In the morning pH was showing as low as 7.6, now is 8.1.

Next battle: Aiptasia. IMG_5710.jpeg IMG_5725.jpeg

Everyone seems to be happy, especially the Aiptasia. Picked up a few berghia nudis from the LFS and they’ve almost completely eradicated them in 4 weeks. IMG_5930.jpeg IMG_5981.jpeg

Just checking in. Had some ups and downs trying some rabbit holes but came back to stable water chemistry, regular maintenance, and water quality. Nudibranchs helped with the Aiptasia, but still need more emerald crabs for the bubble algae. Dealing with some unsightly branching sponge, but changing my RO DI more regularly with the addition of running a small amount of GFO in the sump. 76*F, 1.026, 8.2dKH, 7.9-8.2pH throughout the day, and 6.4 NO3
