Door help needed

Make a shaker style door with a clear, inset panel of either glass or acrylic. Call it a "compromise", sleep on the couch for a week, and then get back to enjoying the view.

I had been looking at doors from Ikea. They have a bunch of similar ones. I'm not super experienced with woodwork/cabinet making so I wasn't sure if I would need a divider down the middle or if I could get away with a few tabs as stoppers (or if I should just go oversized so the stand stops them from over swinging).

Pile a bunch of salt buckets and other random reef stuff in front of the stand. Problem solved. She won't complain about seeing the sump anymore.

1/4 inch flat panel colored acrylic with magnets, or you can bend a 1/4 inch acrylic and make it a front panel with 2 sides all in one...

Go to the Lowes site. Go to kitchen cabinet doors. Get two that will match the opening along with hinges and handles. Paint to match the stand. If you can't find any to match the height, get a pair of taller flat panel doors and have them cut them. When you hang them, put the cut side towards the floor.

If this were mine and I had the same request, my first thought would be to hit the box stores and see if I could find a pair of pre-made door blanks that would span the opening with enough to cover each side by at least 1/2" ( each side)
Probably add a wood strip ( 1-1/2" top to bottom) in the middle to give the doors a stop point. You could use plain flat mounted hinges to each side ( 2 per door).

You didn't mention your woodworking level or tools on hand.
Make your own? Plywood and some flat trim?

ah, ok. I see why she does not want to look at it. A good cleaning is where you need to start. Then, maybe show her pictures of what that fuge section could look like with some sand/mud and cool macros growing in there...if that is what you intended for that section. That and some lighting might change her mood.
If a cover is the only option, the easiest way might be a single panel, I'd do plywood personally, with push magnets so you can pop it off. Another option would be to find a local cabinet shop and see if they come up with an option if you lack tools or woodworking skills for that. I don't know Ikea doors will work, but they might if you are creative.

I’ve got a kreg and built my stand for 25 gallon.. it still doesn’t have a door. I need to run to Home Depot so I’ll see what they have. Thanks!

She did mention she’d like the look of back lit frosted glass. Height is 21”, length is 36”. IKEA doesn’t have any frosted glass that fits those dimensions. Anyone have a frosted glass guy they can recommend =D
