I've been running the apex A3 pro for nearly a year now. Running the DOS QD for water changes and the old DOS's for dosing.
Woke up this morning to my EB832 in fallback mode not communicating with the head unit and all DOS's were down. Immediately looked over and changed out aqua bus cables with no change. I then checked the apex dashboard and noticed something strange.

It's currently setup to change 10000ML over 2 hours.
Thankfully the numbers it's displaying did not actually happen

My other DOS's I use for dosing were normal.

After seeing this I completely powered down the DOS QD and unplugged it from everything for about 5 minutes.
In the middle of this everything reconnected and was acting normal. I decided to reconnect it and everything continued to work as intended.
I'll keep a close eye on it to see if the issue persists.

Has anyone ever had this issue or have any idea what might of caused it?

So far it's still running fine but it leaves an uneasy feeling. thankfully my fallbacks were correct on the EB832 and the tank continued as normal, Hopefully it's just a fluke. I was just curious if anyone had any idea and at least documenting it may help in the future if anyone else has a similiar issue. I'll update if I have anymore issues related to this.

Appreciate it.

Yes! The nearly exact same thing happened with my DOS last month. But worse was that my EB832 eventually stopped providing power to everything!

See the thread here: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/dos-qd-during-auto-water-change-shorted-entire-system.1152741/

After a couple of weeks of not helpful support with Neptune they did send me a replacement unit, which has been running fine since then.

But still very scary since if this happened in the middle of the night the tank and everything in it might have died! I’ve since changed my AWC to only run during waking hours to ensure that I receive the alerts if it happens again.

So much good information! Thanks alot of linking me to your experience. Maybe i missed it but it didn't damage your EB832's right? I'll have to just keep a close eye on it. If it happens again I'll replace the DOS QD, I might possibly invest in a backup EB832 as well. I've never used neptune's support but I've read it's not the best.

As soon as we unplugged the DOS the EB832 started providing power again and its been running fine since. So all good there.
