I am dosing C-Balance 2 part using BM doser and the Alklinity tip always has some build up which I often have to clean. It has not clogged when I forget to clean when I should. However, it is a pain to do it even once in a while. Do you keep them submerge a bit? I saw many videos on youtube and they have the tips above water surface all the time. The doser uses peristaltic pump so back siphon won't be an issue...

Any input is appreciated

I have mine up above the water, but great question. Following along for the ride:)

IME, submerging will not help. I had the same problem, hated it. What i did was rig the ALK line right under the ATO R/O line. This way the ATO would engage and the ALK line would get a fresh water bath automatically many times a day. Its worked well that way for me for many years without the ALK getting clogged. HTH

I think I will pull the alk tip very close to the water surface while pulling the calcium tip hi. We don't want the two near each other where the medium can cause issue. Alk and Calcium create precipitation if mixed.

Yep , that is why I dose one hour apart.

I like the idea of placing it under the ato fill but above the water surface. I keep mine above the water surface now.

I leave the default on the BM so I think they are 5 minutes apart
Call me conservative:) I like the one hour window.

I dose in the return chamber of the sump for that quick up take and mix in to the DT

I keep mine about an inch above the water line. Also have them dose alk every hour on the hour and ca dose every hour on the half hour.

I keep mine above the water level because I don't want to risk them starting a back-siphon.

I like this idea and to take it a step further could you not plumb the ATO line in with a tee fitting just above the end of the Alk line to get a better "flush" ?
