Dosing Nitrate Issues

I’ve dosed Flourish nitrogen and Neophos back when I couldn’t keep either up. Never had anything go wrong.

I might have missed it, but are you running carbon and a poly filter? That might remove a contamination if there is one.

Got to get some fish in there! They are the best way to keep nutrients up, hands down.

Would love to. They had a stubborn case of ick or velvet that I cant seem to kick. Also had to deal with prazi resistant flukes. Been wild. Literally have 6 QT tanks running. Some are in copper, some are in hypo, and some are in CP.

Yes running polyfilters and carbon.

Is it this you have used ? It content NH3/NH4 (or probably urea) too.

Yes, that is exactly what I used. I also used their brand flourish phosphorus.

You sure it wasn't caused by a side effect of nitrate dosing such as alk swings? When I started nitrate dosing my alk consumption doubled over night. Before I knew it my alk went from 8 to 6.5 in one day before I caught it and doubled the dose to maintain 8.

Interestingly I had the exact opposite problem with a large cyano outbreak when nitrate hit zero.

Positive unless my Hannah meter is off. I am thinking of also sending out a sample to ATI or Triton just to make sure something funky didnt get in my water.

This is the normal - yes. Did you dose pure NO3 or some commercial product?

I'm using Neonitro from Brightwell for the time being.
