Dosing panic or misunderstanding?

I reset desired flow to match calibration for each pump and set the schedule for 8:30, 9:30, 10:30 PM

container fill levels decremented this time. but not as expected still. May be off due to prior bug with desired flow set to 1ml.

However, it is 11:40 PM

Nothing in history yet. The dosing pump bug is one thing. The charting/history delays are (3+ hours at this point) quit frankly, unacceptable.

Did you update the FW of the dosing pumps? You and me have also different FW for the computer - I have still 7.32 However with Dosing FW 1.43 and FW 7.32 - my pumps report the right things

GCC V1.1.3.9: new dosing features (continuous mode, very slow dosing, large containers, temporarily deactivation, smoother, even quieter stepper motor operation
The required firmware are min V7.31 for ProfiLux 4 and min V1.43 for GHL Doser 2.x (SA and EXT/Slave)

1.44 and 1.45 are only motor power increase for Maxi 2.2 (And maybe a fix for an issue in PAB numbering with Doser 2.2 but I'm not sure if fix is not only in P4 firmware)

So there are at least two issues here I guess

Very slow dosing is broken still in 1.43
History does not work in 1.36

I will update to 1.39 or 1.43 today to at least get history working.

I am running into all kinds of frustration here. @Vinny@GHLUSA @Gaël

I was able to update the PowerBar6E from 1.0 to 1.1
I was able to update 1 dosing pump from 1.36 to 1.45

The second doser (the one that is used with kh director) returns an update error after "erasing flash" no matter what I do. I have power cycled it, the P4 and the computer.

It is not a cable issue. I used the same cable for the power bar and other doser update.

Going to take a deep breath and wait for somebody to tell me what to do next.

Okay - I don't know what I did, other than walking away to get dinner...

I cam back, rebooted the computer, doser and p4 and tried again with 1.44 and it worked and then from 1.44 to 1.45

So that worked and now both Dosers are at 1.45
Oddly the powebar 6E is still at 1.0 (I can't see well sometimes.. Running parallels on 13" macbook.. so there was no update and I reflashed it from 1.0 to 1.0)
KH director is at 1.0 (assume that is the proper?)

Will report back about Doser history after next set of scheduled doses.

You are correct - I did not hav glasses on and screen was small. I thought the was a new firmware, but I flashed 1.0 to 1.0. I put glasses on after that!

No ADJUSTMENT set (same as above)
Calibration and desired flow are equal
Pump 5

This is still wrong. The dose was set to 1ml and there is no adjustment set (that I can find).

This Doser is pumps 5-8 used for triton dosing

Pumps 1-3 are for KH Director and pump 4 is for saltwater makeup
It reports correctly and is set as follows.

What could be wrong here? Is there more information that I can provide? I ThINK the actual doses are correct, but need to observe more. I hope that it is just history that is wrong, but that still is an issue for sure.

FWIW - Dosing pump 6 ran for ~11 seconds ( was standing in front of it waiting) ~15 minutes ago (there is no history yet but this is another story).

@Lasse how many dosers and channels are you using. Did you get a chance to look at history?

Pump 6 history just updated

As far as I can tell the pump ran for 11 seconds. The time is reported 1 minute EARLY. The pump ran at 11:39 and is reported as 11:38 (same with pump five, reported 1 minuted earlier than it ran)

But given the calibration setting - 11 seconds looks correct for the actual dose into the aquarium (1ml)
The container volume report is not correct.

Another update:

"Record dosage" keeps turning itself off on these pumps. I thought at first I forgot to save, so have double, triple checked the settings several times.

I just went tocheck history on Pump 7 to update this thread. There are NO new dosages record and the setting was OFF.

I have saved it again.. .checked using myGHL and Control Center all of them are SAVE DOSAGE -> ON

saved (again) and checked in control center (again).

Will report back later.

Believe it or not - I have 5 dosers and one maxi (and one in the drawer) - For the moment I use 16 pumpheads + 2 maxi heads. I have not seen this that you report

My Core7 pumps Sometimes - as here (red marking) - I can get a small adjustment - why I do not understand

I don't have adjustment set anywhere.

Very odd behavior.

Only difference I see between our settings is dose amount
me 1 ml and you 5.5 ml

And schedule
Me daily dose - repeat every (1) day.
You dose with all 7 days checked.

I can see the late afternoon doses in the history and there appears to be zero adjustment on them. No changes have been made.

Strange bug indeed. I have a feeling that this is going to be tough to track down, but has something to do with the desired dose amount and weird division for between calibration, desired dose and splitting doses up through day.

Have you done any restart of the P4 during the day? A Norwegian reset as we call it here in Sweden is normally a useful tool when electronics behave strange.

There were 2-3 restarts somewhere in the process - but not every time values were changed. I added ADIN card, 2nd Digital Temp card and will be adding Mitras card today.

Have not looked this morning, but assume doses and reporting are correct now.

To be sure - no programming changes were made in last 2 days other than making "desired flow" match calibration number and had to turn back on and save "record dosage" several times. The ghost "adjustment" reported dosage was still a problem and appears to have sorted itself out on its own after several dosages. So nothing was "fixed" and I think if I set "desired flow" things will break again.

I think there are maybe 2 issues.

1 - "desired flow" - extra slow dosing calculations breaking things (bad division?)
2 - ghost adjustment values being created as part of the side effect.

Both of these breaking history reporting and causing time, volume and container reports to be wrong.
