over that past 10 months or so, my water parameters have not changed a whole lot. they are consistent. In my build thread, I have listed my parameters a couple times. I think the lowest parameter that could be questionable, is Alkalinitiy. Mine seems to stay at 7.7. I use reef crystals. I just got done testing my water and everything is still stable.
I'm not sure if I am going to dose yet, but it is in the back of my mind. I'm considering upping my alk levels, so dosing would need to come into play. none of my corals seem to be struggling due to that low parameter, so i'm not sure if it's needed.
I have a couple bags of soda ash, and calcium chloride that I've had since my last tank when I was dosing my last tank. I don't see any expiration date on these bags, but they are definitely older. Would like to use what I have, if shelf life doesn't matter. anyone have any input on this?
I see the acceptable level is 8-12dkh. is there any benefit to having within that range vs the 7.7 that I'm at?
