Dosing pump for ato?

My top off that I add by hand everyday is aprox 1 & 1/2 gallons. Seems that most People have some type of horror story at one time or another about float switches failing or ato units not functioning properly. So my question is ..... Would it be possible to use a dosing pump to dose r.o. Water from my storage barrel by using a controller timed or programmed to dose the correct amount of water 3or 4 times daily?

Yup. I use a BRS 50ml/minute doser. Been doing so for 3ish years. I dose around 1 - 1/2 gallons per day depending on the season.
