Dosing Pump Recomendations

I am getting to the point in my Waterbox 190.5 where I need to start dosing. I am just needing to start with alk and I was planning on using kalkwasser. What are some good dosing pumps to start with? I've never dosed before so im not sure what i will need to dose additionally in the coming months so I don't know if the four headed dosers are worth the price.

Have you considered starting with manual dosing? Do you know what your Alk consumption rate is? Most of us find when we first start dosing, manual adjustments every few days is plenty to keep up with demand in the tank.

For example- if you only need to add 1 mL of kalk per day to keep up with demand, it doesn’t make much sense to make a dosing pump try to accurately dispense a single milliliter every day, right? You can just add 3 mL every 3 days manually.

I ran the tank below using only kalk for the last couple of years before breaking it down. I dosed fully saturated kalk using a brs 1ml minute pump along with a cheap digital timer. It took a while do get things dialed in and as be mentioned you need to know what your consumption rate is regardless of supplement you decide to use. For low demand tanks I find it easier to just manually dose 2 part.

Simplicity manufactures a 4 head dosing system.

I picked up one from BRS for $150.00. The 3 compartment dosing container was another $50.

Excellent system; easy to use, intuitive menu.

System improved my chemistry stability as the quantities are dosed on time, the same time, every day.
