What do you mean by hardened and cloud figured? When you dose for ALK, you will see a dense white cloud, but as long as you dose in a high flow area it should dissipate quickly. If you dose in a low flow area you may see what looks like a bunch of little pieces or flakes.

Alot of factors go into dosing. If you are thinking 20ml will raise it 1dkh I would recommend dosing half of that and testing your water in a half hour to see how much your dkh raises. If it raises .5 then you know you are good to dump the other half in. Test it again in 24 hours to see how much it has dropped and you can start to get an idea of how much you need to dose daily.

It's completely normal for the water to cloud dosing part 2. I'm not sure I have seen it turn to a solid. Maybe try shaking it up before you dose it?

Like CodyRva said it looked like flakes maybe hardened was a bad term lol but yes it clouded and flaked and dissipated after about a minute I just wasn't sure that was supposed to do that so it seems normal from what you guys are saying. I've also read to dump into the sump is that ideal?

dose into a high flow area. this could be your return chamber, in front of your return into your tank, into your overflow ect.

Yea doesn't matter where as long as it's high flow. I've messed up before and gotten the snow flake like affect; it'll dissolve all the same, not to worry. Next time aim for a higher flow area though
