Dosing Tank with Iodine?

Just wondering if anyone knows if dosing my tank that houses a marbles catshark with iodine will achieve the same results as feeding him mazuri vitamins?

Fish do absorb nutrients from the water column, I've found keeping mg levels up even in a fowlr helps with digestion in my ambush predators. Be careful and if you dose, test, because there are negatives that will come from an overdose.
