Dosing: When?

I based mine on when my parameters needed supplementing.....
It does depends on what you want to dose!
I started All for Reef when my calc/alk use started increasing. Reef AB+ I dosed when my corals were stable.

This being said, let’s say fresh off your tank cycling and alk is low. Would you goto dosing to fix or is the tank still new too rely on that?

What salt brand are you using?
I'd compare it to what your salt is supposed to be and see where standard water changes get you!

Water changes are always the most expensive way to maintain alk, and dosing baking soda is likely among the cheapest. There's no reason to not maintain at least 7 dKH even right after cycling.

Listen to Randys advice over mine :D
