Hello
I recently bought a jebao dcp-10000 pump that came with a dcp-8000 controller. Do I need to change to a 10000 controller or the 8000 controller will work just fine?

It should work OK. I have a number of Jebao pumps and have swapped controllers between different pumps. Even different generations of controllers will work with pumps they didn't come with. Power supplies are another matter. The bigger more powerful supplies can over drive a smaller pump and eventually burn it out. And smaller power supplies may not drive bigger pumps up to their full speed, but they will run and do no harm.

Thank you very much I was afraid to burnt or sth.
Yes, that's exactly what happens, I already tried it in a bucket (since my aquarium is being built) and it only reaches up to 60 watts which is the maximum speed for the 8000 pump and not the 10000. In conclusion, it does work well but up to 8000 l/h which is the limit of the controller. In my case is a perfect fit, because I actually ordered the 8000 pump but amazon sent me the 10000 one with the 8000 controller hahaha.
