I'm sure it has been posted but cannot find the info.
Is the Dowflake Xtra ok to use in the reef tank? I seen where their is more bromide in it compared to the old Dowflake..... :)

If you are doing normal water changes, it is fine to use. If it is a now water change tank, I'd look for a different product, such as from BRS or Dr Foster and Smith. ;)

Yes, it's because of the bromide. It isn't high enough to list on an MSDS. :)

A 70 ppm boost to calcium will boost bromide by about 2 ppm (about 3%). Water changes will make the rise over time pretty small. :)
