Hello everyone. If I am moving from a 40 gallon to a 20 gallon should I remove 20 gallons of water from my tank and use that to fill. Or take 10 or 15 gallons. Or just start fresh ?? Thanks. Moving from house to house so don’t have to time to really allow totally fresh water to mature. Would need to fritz turbo start it.

I'd remove 20 and use that. If you leave water in the tank it will get nasty from everything getting stirred up and yeah as you said you want to get it set back up fast so no time to let fresh salt settle. You could also mix up fresh salt before moving but I'd keep the water change small as the stress of moving is already enough and then do a water change the next day if possible.
