If you can't tell from my avatar I'm a dragonball fan. So I thought I'd start this to see who else in this community is as well.
The new movie title has been released and it's a broly movie. Honestly not sure how I feel about that. I think I've seen enough of broly. But akira toriyama has said that it's been around 20 years since broly and he didn't have much to do with the original broly movies so he wants to make this his. Changing aspects of broly and bringing out a new backstory and dimension to broly's character.
Two big things taken from Akira's statement:
It appears akira is saying the old broly movies are not cannon and he is going to make him cannon in this movie.
The other is frieza is playing a role in both the current situation that brings broly out and the history. I'm willing to bet that unlike the original movies where king vegeta orders broly to death becauses he is concerned with his massive power that instead frieza ordered king vegeta to do so and broly is coming back for revenge. I'm also willing to bet that while broly will try and take revenge by killing frieza goku will step in and say that he won't let him kill frieza. Vegeta will laugh and say have at him but will actually step in to help frieza out of respect for his efforts in the tournament of power. I think vegeta will show some more character developement even though he hates frieza with every fiber of his being. He has been learning from goku's spirit constantly and will not change his hatred towards frieza but will allow him to live out of respect for keeping his word to help in tournament of power.
The original thoughts and hints on this movie was that it was to be a saiyan history lesson. Which may still be true with dialogue and deeper explaination of the saiyan race both pre frieza and under frieza's rule.
It also looks like we will be getting a proper movie trailer within a month.
