I have not plumbed a drain from scratch before. This is a 375G peninsula that I am having built. I am assuming I should use a @BeanAnimal drain. Do I have enough room in this overflow box to do what is needed?

- Orange is for a closed loop
- The center 1” return is a secondary return pump
- The center 1.5” is the edrain

Please see this two pictures. Thoughts?

I've never seen an overflow box with more than 3 drain holes.
Return pumps usually come from a sump, interior or exterior.
I prefer exterior for not heating the water.
Closed loops usually are from drilled holes in the bottom of the tank.
I would contact Vetteguy here for more guidance. He runs big tanks.

Drilled Holes are in the bottom and the side. I’m good with the closed loop system as @Vivid Creative Aquatics helped create the closed loop. The retun PIPES go from the sump through a bulkhead attached in the overflow box then into a lockline. The lock line goes from the bulkhead out of the overflow box into the display.

I just want to make sure there is enough space for the 2 drain lines (outer 1.5”) for a bean or whatever you cool kids are using today :)

Might have issues with the 90s on a bean animal, depending on space inside the overflow box.

Curiosity forces me to ask, why the overflow box w/returns coming through it *and* the holes in the bottom of the display?

Holes on the bottom are a closed loop, as are the 3 holes half way down the business end of the peninsula, that being 2-1” and 1-2”. GC designed the box that way less one of the 1” drains. They build a heck of a lot more tanks then I do…

Circled in red are for the closed loop. The overflow sits above those. I drew it on graph paper to ensure the pipes didn't interfere with the 2 different systems. Below the drawing is a picture showing how GC does their overflows. I like it this way for a couple reasons.

The picture with the red and black pipes is similar to how my setup with be.
