Would you recommend drilling a tank with 5mm thick glass? Looking at buying one of the aquamaxx tanks and drilling it for a sump. Thanks for your help

So your talking like 3/16". What size tank? I have successfully drilled a 10 gallon before, so it is doable.

It can be done, but make sure you take your time and apply little pressure. That glass will crack easily

Depends on what tank I get but probably a 9.6g. From what I know these aquamaxx tanks are newer and haven't found anybody that has drilled one yet.

Ive drilled 10 gallon tanks and had no problems but it easy to break the glass if the bulk head is over tightened

No tempered glass can be drilled.

I have drilled plenty of 29s and 40B. I have only cracked one, and that was because I tried tightening down a sch80 bulkhead with a pair of channel locks. It was dumb and a long time ago. LOL

I agree with above. If its not tempered go for it but the thin glass can crack with tightnening the glass or if the pipe is bumped.
