Is it possible to drip kalk along with running a 3 part ? I use the trident system but can’t keep my ph up. I guessing due to the tanks being in my basement. I would like to drip kalk along with the trident system. Is it possible and if so what is the best way to do a drip

You can absolutely do it you’ll just need to gradually reduce your 3-part dosing while slowly increasing your kalk dosing.

Kalk won’t raise your levels; it will maintain them.

Start by increasing your kalk dosing a little each day while closely monitoring your alk, calcium, and magnesium. Use your 3-part only to fill any gaps. Over time, as your kalk starts maintaining the levels you want, your 3-part usage will taper off, and you’ll just use it to make small corrections when needed.

Ok so what if I dose sodium hydroxide? Is anyone doing this to raise PH?

Lots of folks do it. I have a recipe where you use it to replace the alk part in other two part recipes.

Randy, this is incredible! I am no scientist by no means. I’m barely know how to turn a computer on. But in Laymans term you’re telling me that I can replace my BRS three part supplement with this homemade remedy? And do it the same that I am doing through my tridentas the three part BRS system? And still get a better pH reading because I am using sodium hydroxide.

The BRS three part is their version of these recipes. They originally asked to use my recipe years ago.

You are a lifesaver. What can I expect to get a bump in my pH using the sodium hydroxide method?

Whether and how much bump you get depends on your daily alk demand. The ph effect will show up immediately and will reach a steady state with regular dosing in a couple of days.
