Dry fit or permanent pvc to sump bulkheads?

Do you dry fit or use pvc cement on the overflow pipes going to the bulkheads attached to your sump?

You shouldn't if it's a snug fit, I plumb the same as @P-Dub myself, usually threaded bulkhead, with a threaded/slip adapter into a slip/slip union

My drain on my 66 gallon tank is directly over the sump, so those are not glued. ( not threaded)
On my 233 gallon tank I have a bean animal style external overflow box. The drains have several turns, so they are glued down until the pipes are directly over the sump.

I had mine just dry fit into the sump bulkhead, but got some salt creep around the joint. I just took the pipe out, added some silicone and put back in. Solved the salt creep, and can be removed later on if needed.

Just wondering if I should dry fit the 3 - 1.5” drains into the sump bulkheads or cement.

I would glue it up to a certain point, but would dry fit into the bulkheads.

I had mine just dry fit into the sump bulkhead, but got some salt creep around the joint. I just took the pipe out, added some silicone and put back in. Solved the salt creep, and can be removed later on if needed.

I use a very small amount of silicone on the bulkhead washer. Make sure it is very thin, even and covers all of the rubber washer. I then put the silicone side against the glass and press the bulhead on it to get a good seal. Leave the bulkhead, but do not tighten the nut yet, and let dry for at least 24 hrs. You can remove the bulkhead and the washer is sealed against the glass.
Never had salt creep or a leak doing it this way
