Dry rock has a little bit of a weird smell

Should i add it? It has dried purple coralline algae all over it, ive read that if it has dried organisms on top it will smell a little funny, help thx

What are you planning on adding it to? An existing set up or are you looking to add it to a new setup that hasn't cycled yet? I'd say go for it with a new uncycled set up and add with caution to an existing set up as it may cause a mini re-cycle. You could always save some of your next water change water and throw a powerhead in the bucket with the rocks and leave them for several weeks to let them become "live rock" again...
