Does anybody have experience with the first generation Duetto ATO, it’s currently discontinued but I have one in storage that I’m planning to use in my QT tank, thought that I would ask if it was reliable or if I’m going to flood my house lol,

Thanks.

Ive been using one for many years with no issues. I bought it when it first came out and its a solid ATO. I have an extra first gen in storage as backup too but ive never had to use it. The only thing ive had is a pump failure but it burned out because i did not set the safety timer up after a power cycle and my ATO was out of water.

How do you set up the safety timer? I don’t have any instruction manuals or anything but I used it last night to fill up a tank and it worked pretty good

When you kill the power, the first fill sets the safety timer and it will not fill past that time.
So for example when i set mine i usually will have the water level slightly below the sensor so when the first fill initiates it doesnt pump for any longer than 10 seconds.
After that if the controller senses the pump on for longer than 10 seconds it locks out.

If the water level is super low on the first fill, it will set the safety timer for how ever long it takes to fill up.

This is a failsafe if your level sensor fails, the pump wont pump longer than the first fill time. Though never had a level sensor failure yet.
