DUKES tank thread

My wife wasn't sure what I was looking at because I was wide eyed and drooling apparently. I showed her my screen and got an even more awkward look. I havent done that since looking at some sick swedish volvo builds years ago. Thank you for that

Thanks brotha

So I’ll show a pic of the good and a pic of the bad. Tank is still doing well besides a few stressed. And the reason for the stress is bad Salifert alk kits. 2 different kits showed the same alk of 8.3 to 8.5 where I keep my tank. I went and picked up a trident and it was showing my alk really low. So of course I blamed the trident. These were my go to test kits. Been using them for 10 years. Well nothing is ever for sure in this hobby. In reality my alk got as low as 6.7 and only just above 7 at night. What seems to be affected are stags and millis. Deep water and tenius show no signs of stress. Well yeah my pink lemonade. Well I’ll show a pic of the healthy coral and a pic of the aftermath of bad test kits

This is the reason I almost had a total loss. Now the waiting game to see what the actual damage was. When a month passes and everything seems ok I should be in the clear. The salifert is a brand new kit used 2 times. Got it at the end of May.

My gosh man I'm so sorry to see this!! How many colonies are effected?

Amazing tank! Thanks for sharing and keeping it active. I believe we all have to deal with a lot of the bad but it never seems to get the attention it deserves. Thanks for showing the progress!

Do you suppliment anything else besides the calcium reactor? Aminos? Trace elements? Water changes?
