Hello everyone,

I am pretty new into the hobby and have a question about my Duncan. I received it a couple months ago and it was very unhappy and lost all of its color. It has slowly been getting its color back and I have been feeding it as well. Just curious how much longer until it fully recovers and gets its original color back.

Thanks!

It looks brown so it must have some color, does it have color under blue light? Corals look brown under white lights

There really isn’t a set timeframe for recovery with something like this. I have had bleached/browned out corals recover in less than a week, but I’ve also had coral that took months. I would consider dosing amino acids in addition to the spot feeding if you don’t already.

I have been spot feeding but have not tried amino acids yet
Some good options are Red AB+ and Aquavitro fuel. There are other brands out there though. I wouldn’t spot feed any of these. Just broadcast feed.

What are your nutrients in the tank? The rock looks fairly new.

Tank is new. I think the white rock in a small tank might be stressing the Duncan.
Nitrate around 7
Salinity at 35
