I am getting ready to start adding some coral to the tank now that the cycle is complete and my snails are doing a bang up job of eating the diatoms. I am definitely going heavy on the zoas but was also thinking about getting a duncan or two. I was just wondering if they are beginner friendly or do they require special care and/or a more mature tank?

I would think duncan to be more beginner friendly than zoas/palys just due to the learning curve of how cautious you need to be with zoas/palys (ie. dips, potential pests).
Good luck. :)

Duncans are probably the easiest coral to care for. Medium light and flow and they're happy. Sometimes they take a few months to settle into a tank. They'll open up normally but not seem to grow, then seemingly overnight it has 5 more heads than when it started. Definitely grow in spurts. I've only seen about 4 colors of them, so that seems to be the biggest limiting factor.
