Duncan with protruding mouth

Does it mean anything particular when the Duncan has its mouth protruding like this? It gets plenty of food.

The tentacles are extended and it looks beautiful to my inexperienced rookie eyes. I may be mistaken, and will gladly be corrected by the experts, but I believe they expel waste and food they don’t want/need by doing this. I’ve seen my Duncans doing it occasionally and the 3 heads I started with have just split into eight!

When I zoom in on the picture I see a strand coming out of its mouth, so I agree with Bonnie it’s expelling waste.

Ok so now, for the past several days, one head has been mostly closed up and occasionally expelling some brown stuff, which I try to blow off/away when I see it. I *think* it’s coming from its mouth, but kind of hard to tell sometimes with it being mostly closed up. And the other head is just…. Plump. Not sure what to make of it.

I can honestly say I haven’t seen anything look like the one on the left. I still say it is expelling waste (the one with the brown string) but those plump bulbous tentacles are bizarre! @Mr. Mojo Rising?

Well the one on the right has been mostly closed for several days, and the brown stuff it seems to expel is more of a clump than string. I’ll try to get a pic before I blow it off next time.

The left one has ‘unplumped’ and looks more normal, but that other head is still closed up for whatever reason

I got a top down shot of it, is it melting or what? I’m not sure what’s going on with it
