Duncan with protruding mouth

The tentacles are extended and it looks beautiful to my inexperienced rookie eyes. I may be mistaken, and will gladly be corrected by the experts, but I believe they expel waste and food they don’t want/need by doing this. I’ve seen my Duncans doing it occasionally and the 3 heads I started with have just split into eight!

Ok so now, for the past several days, one head has been mostly closed up and occasionally expelling some brown stuff, which I try to blow off/away when I see it. I *think* it’s coming from its mouth, but kind of hard to tell sometimes with it being mostly closed up. And the other head is just…. Plump. Not sure what to make of it.

I can honestly say I haven’t seen anything look like the one on the left. Well the one on the right has been mostly closed for several days, and the brown stuff it seems to expel is more of a clump than string. I’ll try to get a pic before I blow it off next time.
