Durso Drain Thoughts

Okay so my used tank came with this Durso setup, it was super loud at first, but I put a 3/8th hole in the top cap of the drain and it’s SMOOTH now. No gurgle!

I shut the pump off to see if the sump would fill and overflow and it did not, but I’m thinking maybe lower water level in the tank a bit?

Give me your thoughts!

I tried different pipe set ups in my over flow, but ended up just adding a gate valve to get it completely quiet, added to the tank drain.

I got mine here, a lot cheaper than aquarium supply stores
