just posting some interesting dwarf angelfish behaviors. Just got a new 206 gallon aquarium and took down a 25 year old 150 and 75. In the 150 i had a successful harem of 3 flames, in the 75 i had a large lemon peel. I combined the livestock in the dark of night. In the morning almost every fish got along very well. One behavior change i noticed was the lemon peel swam out in the open much more than when he was in the 75. He didn’t appear to be bullied or even notice any of the flames. Even sharing Nori at the feeder together. Three days later being the bold and sometimes stupid aquarist i got a female lemon peel. She’s approximately 1.5 inches, so she’s definitely a female. I introduced her just before lights out after being in an acclimation box all day. The Flames chased her some whenever she went into the rocks, but nothing bad. The big male lemon peel completely ignored her. She tried to swim after him as he swam by, but i wouldn’t say she was chasing just trying to stay close to him. He continues to ignore her today swimming out in the open while she is acting like a dwarf angelfish should swimming in and out of the rock.
