Hey guys I've got a 29 gal bio cube with a Ebili angel, clown Gobi, a banded coral shrimp and some blennies , my question is , could I do an black clownfish in here with the fish I've got. I've had bad experience with maroon clowns and angels (It starved my flame angel nearly to death) and I onto want to repeat the process again, so please any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

a 29 Is too small for any dwarf angel. the Eibli is one of the largest dwarfs. can reach 6". probably the reason you had trouble with those other fish. they are aggressive, especially a Maroon, and need more room.

no..tank size needs to be bigger..55 gallon minimum...they also need a lot of live rock to forage algae and swim within..

A black ocellaris is kinder than a maroon. That said, I agree, the tank is too small for an angelfish. The smallest dwarfs maybe, but they would be stressed as they got bigger.

I know this can't be a perminate home for this fish but its a small enough fish that this tank is perfect for it and since it came from PETCO where they cram way too many fish in little10 gal. tanks I think it will be happy in my tank for a few years.

So then...because petco abuses them a little better is acceptable? Also, they don't keep them long-term. Usually a few weeks or so.

I don't want to bring you down or nothin', but I think that fish is gonna grow faster than you expect.

Just hoping you'll think about it. :/

As to your original question, no, an occy shouldn't bother it much.
