So I want to get a Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish in the future when I get my tank so rn I’m doing my fish list and I’m wondering what invertebrates you can have with Lionfish. I know not shrimp but what inverts are lions fine with? Etc, hermit crabs? Emerald crabs? What type of snails?

Thanks[emoji1305]

Hermits and snails will be ignored. I have a small fuzzy(1.5") It hasn't bothered my emerald crab, Banded coral shrimp, or purple reef lobster. Actually I think the lobster has taken a couple shots at the fuzzy. Not sure things will stay the same once the fuzzy gets full grown.

I was literally just looking up, “could my baby fuzzy dwarf lionfish be killing my emerald crabs,” bc ever since I got him, I’ve notice 3 that have looked completely in shock/stunned, n can barely move, n are gone by the next day. So, I would def say emeralds are a no go w the fuzzy’s. Purely anecdotal…but I’m very confident in my opinion as I’ve never seen anything like it in my crabs until I got him. He also LOVES bristle worms! If I stir the sand he’ll get excited and vacuum them all up before they get back under the sand. Doesn’t even look at any frozen or fresh dead food I’ve tried tho.

That IS weird, lol!! 😂

Altho, mine hasn’t tried any live fish either. Is urs a fuzzy? Bc the larger ones suck up fish bigger than their heads, haha! But yeh, my fuzzy is awesome. Absolutely love him. If he’s hiding in/on the rocks n the other fish don’t notice him, they all do their playing, battling, etc, but the second this lil fuzzy decides to slowly come thru, it’s like a crazy bunch of kids in class before the teacher walks in… before SCATTERING QUICKLY to their desks n go silent, 🤣🤣 and he’s TINY compared to everyone else. I still laugh every time I see it happen.

The wild thing is, most if any of my fish have never even seen a lionfish before, as I got almost all of them as tiny (captive bred whenever possible) babies, n grew them all out over the years…but they just KNOW, he’s nobody to mess with.

I had a volitian, fuzzy, fu manchu, and a zebra. I dont have any of them anymore. I got stung and almost died from a severe allergic reaction to their venom, so my BF made me get rid of them. Which I totally get 😂 I was still very sad. My fuzzy was my favorite, shes my profile picture.

Awww man, I’m so sorry to hear that. I get it though from ur bf’s perspective. If Fluffy (the name of my fuzzy) ever almost killed my old lady, that would prob be the end of my love for him to. Or? Maybe I’d just get a divorce, 🤣🤣

I never did any of the big boys, but my buddy had a Volitian & Zebra and he kept “missing fish” n I was like, “what the heck did u expect?!” He was still “unsure” if it was the lions bc he never witnessed them go after anyone. One day he came home n txted me a pic of the Volitian w his 4” powder blue tang tail still hanging out of his mouth, 🤦‍♂️ so I helped him rehome them at the Norwalk aquarium n that was that. I just never did them bc everything I’ve read says they can eat fish more than half the length of their body. Never wanted to take that chance.
