Hello everyone! I just purchased a fuzzy dwarf lionfish today and I would like to know how to QT this guy. He is about 2-3 inch long. I know they are sensitive to Copper, so what other method should I do to prevent parasites from entering my DT?

The main thing is to ensure it settles in and is eating well. They don't like brand new QT, they do better in one that's been set up for awhile.

They tolerate amine-chelated copper, just not ionic copper.

I just updated our quarantine protocols, but for a lionfish, I would choose option #1, they don't handle hyposalinity all that well.

So I can use Prazipro treatment? If for the next 30-45 days it has been good with no problems and I were to add him to DT will it introduced parasites (ich) again?

Praziquantel helps control flukes, coppersafe controls protozoans such as ich or velvet.

You can do it medication free for ich and velvet with the tank transfer method. 2 weeks of quarantine. You can also use prazi pro to proactively treat for flukes as well as metroplex for brook and uronema
