Dwarf Moray eats once a month

I've had my GDM for 8 years (Bobby). Recently he has been going on hunger strikes. He goes 4-6 weeks without eating. Then eats 3 times in a week, then goes on a fast again.

He's done this for the past 6 months. I keep telling myself that I shouldn't keep worrying, but I offer him food constantly and he refuses. Eventually he eats but I have always fed him at least once a week for 8 years.

Is this normal?

Anything to do sexual maturity and this is mating season and who can eat at time like that?
