Dying anemone

Here I have my rose bubble tip anemone and I’m afraid times have come to and end (or almost)
Being new in the hobby I can’t tell if is a split damaged foot/ disc. Infection? Most of the tentacles are very limp with the occasional movement of a few that have life to them. Under the light it’s still vibrant and seems to be alive. What do i do at this point… anemone was the size of a softball and thriving a week ago then fell into the sand and things have gone south.

I’ll also add parameters 1.024 salt
Alkaline 8
Calcium 440
Phosphates 0
Ammonia 0 nitrates around (5) tank is relatively new within 2 months (all Liverock was kept live and transported from matured tank.)
Nitrite 0
Everything else in the tank is safe and thriving (sorry for my scrambled all over the place post.)

Many people report issues with anemones in young tanks. I'm not 100% sure what the exact cause is, but there are multiple potential issues that may stress certain corals more than others:
  1. I see some diatom growth, which is pretty normal around the 2 month mark. While they aren't harmful and are always present in healthy reef tanks, they can drain nutrient levels so low that even your anemone's symbionts (Zooxanthellae/Symbiodiniaceae) may end up competing over nutrients and trace elements.

  2. A nitrate level of 5ppm is perfectly fine, but undetectable phosphate can become an issue. It's pretty common for young tanks to have phosphate below the detection limit of hobby-grade test kits, and that doesn't have to be a problem, but it very well can be. I personally would target at least 0.03ppm PO₄ with a DIY phosphate solution and a decent phosphate test kit. It might take quite a while before the dosing actually registers on your test kit though, so stay patient. The reason is the constantly ongoing equilibrium reaction between phosphate and the calcium carbonate of your rocks and substrate. Phosphate is permanently being bound and redissolved, and only once the rocks and substrate are sufficiently saturated with bound phosphate will enough of it stay dissolved for your test kit to pick it up.

  3. Even if you used 100% live rock, there is a lot of surface area in your tank that will first be covered in biofilm, then in spores and cysts, and finally in algae like coralline. That means an enormous amount of microbiology is currently fighting over nutrients, trace elements, and surface area. Even if we consider live rock to have completed that process already, it will certainly be affected by it, and so will the symbionts in your coral.

  4. There may be more reasons like insufficient flow, light, other water parameters, or something I haven't thought about yet. Maybe other people have a few suggestions, but besides adjusting phosphate I don't think you can do too much.
