This is my first aquarium so im pretty new to all this, about 2 months ago i added live rocks to the tank. A week ago i added a BTA, and a big stone crab came out of the rock. We didnt even know he was in there. I looked up if it was safe and seen that they eat anemone so after setting up a trap all, and him not going in we decided to take the rock out and pull him out. The anemone didnt get squished or even touched but it got scared and shriviled up. He got back to his normal self, but the next day he looks like the picture i added. Is he okay? Im scared if he dies he will kill everything in the tank

Ok so....that tank sounds a bit new to have a bta. But nonetheless. They do shrivel up like this to digest. Whats the lighting on your tank?

Well the tank has been set up for about 8 months with a small hi hat, 50 hermits, and some rocks, just not live rocks. Lighting specs from my tanks website- 1- 36 watt True Actinic 03 Blue
1 - 36 watt 10,000K Daylight

Yeah they close a lot like that ... The hermits can irritate them sometimes when they start picking around them

30 gallon but im upgrading to 80 in a few weeks. The site i bought him from said he will be okay in it but id rather have him in a bigger tank. What type of lighting would be good for this tank though?

Im a fan of metal halides...rumor is btas like him best.... but the new thing is leds. Its all preference and budget. They will grow under t5, led and mh...if you go with led make sure to check coverage based on tank dimensions to get adequit lighting

Side note the bta looks bleached. Maybe just the pic?

The picture makes him look more bleached then he is, but he definitely should have a little more color. Is this from not enough light?
