Dying milli. HELP!!!!!

Everything in my tank has been doing well (except for some brown corals I wrote about in another thread) and is growing, but tonight I just came home and saw that half of my milli has died. Does anybody have any ideas as to what may have caused this or what I might do to save what's left? Please any advice would be much appreciated it is one of my favorite corals.

Frag off what's left and dip it...best chance to try and salvage some.

What is your salinity, alk, and ph? These levels seem to impact rtn the most in my exp...

After a closer look it seems that half of one of the branches is dead, but it is only the right side of the branch, and not the left side, so I am not sure if I should cut it. My salinity is 1.026 and i am going to test my other parameters tonight. Do you have any idea what might have caused this so suddenly?

Could be many things, alk spikes or drops can effect corals quickly.

Assuming this is a new coral, the salinity, alk, ph of your water might greatly differ from the water it was growing/sent in. I've noticed millis seem to be extra sensitive to quick/sudden changes in these parameters. Of course this is only one of many possible causes to a situation like you are experiencing.

Thank you bradon for your insight, but I have had the coral for about a couple months and it has colored up to a beautiful neon green/ yellowish color, it's one of my favorite pieces.

its most likely stn. i would definitely dip it and check all water parameters

Sounds like your alk isn't stable....

I did test my alk and it is low. How would one go about raising alkalinity? Thanks everyone for your responses.

What is your alkalinity now? You can use baking soda to raise alk, but it would be helpful to know where it's at now.
