I really was just winging it when I built my stand, tank and sump setup. I almost imedealty had a algae issue in my sand so for almost 7-8 months all of my water changes where though a siphon tube in a attempt to clean the gravel/sand bed.

Only recent have I been able to use the drain tube and valve that I had originally installed, and I couldn't imagine not having that now.

The whole system is a 29g display and a 10g sump (8g ish capacity) so nothing epic, but I'm just so impressed with my ability to do a 5g weekly water change without disturbing my fish at all in under 5min with no mess, I just wanted to share.

Thanks

My origonal intent was to some day feed a reactor of some sort, but it seems like a decent powerhead can feed mostr reactors. I'm really happy I have it now.

The return pump runs up through 1" hose to a T with a 3/4" valve on each side, one is the return the other is the drain off. 20190126_161640.jpg

That's impressive I wish I could figure something like this out. I hate water changes so much I rarely do them lol
