pvc solenoid valve 1"

Does anyone know of a 1" pvc solenoid valve that can be used in our tanks? I am almost wondering if I can use some sort of irrigation valve i.e. sprinkler system ( probably not saltwater safe)

I have a Hydor Smart wave sitting on the shelf. It is originally made to turn AC power heads on and off at set time intervals.

I am thinking instead to use it to open and shut NC solenoid valves in a closed loop system. Idea is to be able to push all the water from the left side of the tank for say either 1 minute or 15 minutes and then changes direction. Instead of intense quick bursts from a gyro. Unfortunetly I think those are the only two time settings that would be viable.

I had planned to use 2x 3/4" seaswirls on my tank but think when I revamp I would like to try this.

Also going to see if I can fit a pump down in my overflow, help with surface water movement at the same time. the feed line will come straight up and T to 2 solenoids and then into the tank from the top.

anyways 1" or even 3/4" pvs solenoid valves anyone?

A motorized ball valve? Depending on flow from the pump, and the piping, you may run into some challenges keeping the volume in the return chamber of the sump steady. Personally, I prefer having dc equipment just for safety, especially as when these valves leak it’s typically at the stem and right into the general area where there’s live voltage. Also, might want to think about the valves failing to open/close at some point and how to detect and deal with that.

Edit. Thinking about this for a sec, maybe a 3-way valve would be best. That way you're alternating, and if the motor fails, you would still get flow out of one side.

I have made and actually have a working prototype of a reciprocating valve similar to an ocean motion valve.

This would be much simpler. Not sure why the return chamber would fluctuate, but it may. Good observation. If that’s the case the pump can just go in the tank.

To your question: USsolid has both solenoid and motorized ball valve - 1in and can get in CPVC. They are on amazon.

Additional info: AC vs DC solenoids. AC solenoids can plug directly into the socket, however can have a hum to to electrical vibration. DC ones need an adapter, though don't have the additional noise.
While mentioning noise - solenoids will have a distinctive 'click' sound. Motorized ball valves will also make quite a bit of noise for ~5 seconds.

Recommendation - While I would rather go with a multiple pump solution, a 3 way motorized ball valve would work. I would shy away from the auto-return models, but I haven't had issues with the 3 wire systems. Something like https://ussolid.com/products/1-upvc...ire-dual-control-dc-24v-with-manual-override? would likely work.
Over time however, I think the noise of the valve actuating would be irritating.

I like that. Will look into it. Running 24v dc valve would be fine too.
