EB8 vs DC8

I have an apex gold and need another EB8.
if I get a DC8 will it work with my apex?
Will it do everything that a normal DC8 will do?

I think the only difference is that the dc8 cannot report energy useage, and all of the outlets are normal relays, not triac based solid state. Everything else is the same
