Typical lifespan >62000 hrs..

36V 8.9A
$107
IP 67/ 65
7 year warranty.

I have no love or respect for most supplied power supplies inc. ballasts in the current manuf. enviroment.
..................................
The Meanwell GST90 24V above has a 3 yr warranty and $37 at Mouser.
Oddly no 36V ..
At $16 premium over the Chinese "stuff" ..well your call.

40C = 104 F... ;)
Looks like a better product at half the price which is very reasonable to me.

So I’ve noticed the suffixes on the PSU mean something; I’m thinking I need to purchase one with the suffix “B”

I don't t think so.
"B" is just 3 way dimmable
"A" is built in pfc ( led supply chart) though normally it means current and voltage adjustable.
A bit confused on this.

Anyways used as a power supply either blank or "A" is fine.

Used as an led driver " B" is the most common though I usually recommend "AB" if available and not too much more in cost. Strictly for the versitility.

An "A"
Amazon product

All of them:

Ecotech Marine uses the same replacement PSU for Gen 4-6
I meant which model. XR 15 or XR30, but going back and re-reading everything I see no mention of a XR15, so it must be XR30's.

Voltage will be the same since it is really just 2 15 pucks
Wattage may differ though.

XR15 and XR30 run on different voltage.
Odd....
Both ps's just run cc drivers. The ceiling would be the v(f) of the highest string.
I suppose one puck or 2 they both use the same # of drivers
In the xr 30 that would mean each channel is 2 x the voltage of the 15.
Yea I guess I can see that.
My bad ...

The insane price they charge seems to be for the correct low voltage adapter. Depending on how much money you want to save you can get a generic power supply. All of my G5 blues use this mean well power supply. I just got one from Amazon and spliced the 24v side to the ecotec plug.

I just fried my PSU for a G6 X15 and found this discussion. I went with the Mean Well replacement part which follows the same model number GST90A24 without the last 'ET' which suggest it was the made-for Ecotech declaration. Thanks for the advice here. It was $10 more than the generic PSU and gives me a little more comfort seeing electrical experts here chime in on a quality PSU vs super cheap PSU.

@oreo54 put it nicely.
You want either "blank" or "A" type.
Danny,
I am looking to swap all my power supplies over to Meanwell as you suggested. My quest is two fold. first could I use an HLG-600H-36 (Blank or "A") rated at 600 watts to power a two XR30 G6 Blue at 200w each respectively and and XR15 rated at 100w Respectively. for a total of 500w load on a 600 watt rated driver. i dont run my lights more than 80% at any given moment. I have 4 XR30.s and 4 XR15's would like to bring this down to three drivers and not have the 8 transformers i have now.
second question is how can I source the plug end from the OEM transformer to use on the Meanwell drivers, as I would need 4 of each (XR30 and XR15).
also thank you for posting these guidelines a couple years back I appreciate the help.
