After a few issues getting the lights running yesterday, I now have my EcoTech Radion G5 Pro’s installed and running. Currently in acclimation mode but everything is looking really good.

I was running 48” Current USA IC Pro’s. The IC pros were sitting directly on the glass lids (which I removed right after this picture). The color was fine, but nothing seemed to be thriving. Color is about the same with the Radions, but now I’m just hoping that things start to take off.

lol... Its not about the color. Its about the amount of par the coral gets + othr factors...

The interesting thing is that if you cycle through the different default color views of the Radion you will some pretty drastic color changes in most corals.

I definitely need to rent a par meter pretty soon. The IC pros that I was running previously are so under powered that I wasn’t too worried about par. With these Radions I selected the LPS and Softies setting which automatically sets them to 40% and I turned on 30 day acclimation which I’m assuming dropped it to 20% for now.

good choice. the new radon's g5 are fantastic lights. Why did you prefer a pro version and not the blue version? what are the dimensions of the tank on which you use them?

I decided on the pro because after reading many articles I believed it was the best for my current situation. My tank is fairly new, and is majority LPS and softies. My wife is home during the day and likes to see the fish, so she likes that little splash of white light. Have to give my wife what she wants as she has yet to complain about the hobby.

My tank is a 120gal, 48”x24”x24” and I’m running 2 Radion XR30 Pro. Very good coverage for what I needed
