If you are having the problem of red/green light flashing. a possible fix is the power supply is bad. change it for a different one and reconnect. it worked for me. try it before disposing of unit. Good reefing.

You can try holding down all three buttons for 30-60 seconds which is a hard reset and see if it goes out.
Also check impeller housing for any obstructions such as sand.
