I went away and my skimmer overflowed and spilled over the switch box which of course didn’t have waterproofing except for the switches on the top. They couldn’t bother including just a gasket. The switch block started melting, lucky a fire didn’t start. It looks like the yellow connectors contain a fuse that blew hopefully before killing the pump.
I stripped the wire down which went down to the plug and the short burnt the wire so that part is useless but no apparent damage to the outlet.
Can I splice another AC cord to the connector to the pump (given that’s not shorted too) Or is there a cheap power connector I can buy (without the switch box I hate) to directly plug the AC pump? Having trouble finding one.
The lack or foresight by Red Sea really bothers me. If they would have just added a gasket to the box opening this likely wouldn’t have happened.

Warning: I have been an Electronics hobbyist (no degree) for awhile, have experience with splicing mains cords and understand the dangers fully. Even I am asking advice from an EE or Electrician before attempting. If you do not have the knowledge to do this safely and properly DO not attempt!
