Silly question I know but are you removing the fry from the display? What are you feeding the fry?

Did you feed the rotifer`s Phytoplanton? it is important . the phytoplankton is the food the larvae need to survive . the rotifers are just the carriers of the food . .The fry feed as soon as they hatch so they have to start feeding on rotifers right away .Also only use the main tank water for the larvae if you mix new water it will also kill the larvae.

What temp is the fry tank? What was the water source for the fry tank? Did you measure Ammonia at any point after setting up the fry tank?

I started with a 5 gallon bucket my culture came from Reed Mariculture and yes feed the rotifer twice a day each time 5.5 mil a total of 11 mil a day. I think where I mess up I was making a second 5 gal bucket. Took a gallon of rotifer out from the original and added back 1 gallon new water.

What you mean took a gal water out of your culture ? When I was raising my clown I had 4- 2gal buckets going for rotifers . The water stay with the rotifer culture. I strained the rotifers out with a coffee strainer and put the rotifers in the tank with the larvae . never put the water from the rotifers in the fry tank .I raised rotifers with a SG 1.015-1.017.

Never said that I took the water of the rotifer and fed my frys with that! In the past I had successful frys grow up to 4 months. Something I must be doing wrong now. I think I crash my rotifer.

Hatch and next day dead? I dont think they died of starvation. Fry carry egg sack they feed of upto 36hrs if im not mistaken .do you have a digital thermometer? What was the temp? Light cover on the heater?? Blocked the red or green light from the heater??? Did you have plenty of oxygen for both fry & rotifers because rotifers can used alot of oxygen.

Brian, my SA Fancy Snowflakes hatched last night, and immediately I fed them live rotifer. Hope they make it. Question what type of air filter should I use in the larvae tank?
