I bought a flame scallop about eight months ago on a spur purchase and wish i did research first. From my understanding they can be finicky and usually last as long as it takes for them to starve. I was feeding phyto for about a month, havent done it since. He found a spot he likes and is open all the time. I have no skimmer and no filter socks. The biggest thing is dont try to move it, let him do it on its own.

If hes not happy he'll move pretty quick. They definitely dont like crazy flow or direct light. They aren't photosynthetic
I have him in my lowest flow and lowest light area :) I needed something to fill that space anyways

Anyone know if he's upside down? There's nothing about that on the internet, and his mouth is always hanging out

i never have and dont foresee me needing one anytime soon. My flame scallop appreciates it!
I have a regular red scallop that is now just about one year in the tank. A 5 in indo razor muscle the Ive had for about 4, 5 years, plus 5 more like it and one acro that is now almost the size of my palm.
9002 in a 55 with a big fuge.

I'm going to buy a big one now; so I won't have to get another one for my 6 foot tank which I'll set up in 2 years

I wanna start getting more clams, i think they are so cool! I got a couple cleaner clams in my sandbed but i never see them. Any suggestions on where to get some?
