The only way to quit smoking is to just stop smoking. I smoked for about 8 years and tried all kinds of stuff to quit, which never worked. One day I told my girl I was gonna quit smoking, her response was, "yeah right, you're never gonna quit.". I never smoked another cigarette after that, just to prove her wrong. Every one of my friends smoked (most still do) and I worked at a casino at the time...it was hard due to all of the temptation. The firs tthree days were cake, but head aches, shakes, and a bad attitude started around day four and lasted about ten days. After that, it just felt like something was missing during times I would have usually smoked, coupled with what seemed like a king cold (coughing and congestion) that eventually faded out. Im not sure how long it has been because I did not keep track of the day I quit, but it was about six months after hurricane Katrina (which I lived on the coast when it hit), and I've been smoke free since. You just have to commit to quitting and prove to yourself you gave enough will power to not smoke. Just don't smoke the cigarrette, ask yourself what does the cigarette really do for you and say it isn't worth it. Good luck quitting, I know it isn't easy.
