I have two very old black box LEDs that have the typical two channels of blues and whites. There are no controls on these lights....each channel is either ON (100%) or OFF. I'm currently not using these, but would like to modify, if I can, by installing potentiometers so that I could adjust the level of light. Is this possible? And if so, what pot's do I buy, and where does it get installed (I'm guessing on the low voltage, DC side, if possible)? Typical with Black Boxes, no labels on any of the components:

Always possible, just depends on how much time and money you're willing to invest.

From the picture it does not appear that you can just wire in a couple of pots, looks like a few constant current drivers for the LED that aren't controllable (always on).

How handy are you with a multi-meter? Are you willing to make PCBs and solder?

I'd suggest metering out all the connections and see what they're at. Find out your voltages and make a schematic.

From there you can start looking into what you may need to replace or what you can tap into.

I greatly appreciate the comments. However, if I need to purchase new drivers as well as pot's (and fix the LED's that are burnt out), it's just not worth it. The drivers I found were $28 a piece, and pots were about $5/each. I think I'll just use these for parts....with that said, I just pinched a fan out of one of these units for another fixture I have.
